Meet Mary Miller
This week is national Dental Assistant Recognition Week! At New Hampshire Family Dentistry, we know that we wouldn’t be where we are without the hard work of our dental assistants. That’s why we are going to spotlight one of our assistants every day of this week. For today, we’ve posted this fun Q&A with our dental assistant, Mary Miller! Read on to learn more about Mary and what her favorite cavity-inducing snack is!
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Meeting new people and helping them to feel comfortable.
What has been your most memorable moment as a dental assistant?
The most memorable moment for me would be inserting crowns on a patient’s front teeth, then watching them smile and tear up because they finally had the smile they have always wanted.
What made you want to become a dental assistant?
I enjoy helping people feel at ease. I know what it’s like to feel nervous in the dental chair. Whatever I can do to make someone comfortable is important.
In one sentence, convince us why we should brush and floss every day.
Because brushing and flossing cleans away all the bacteria in your mouth that helps grow decay.
What is one thing your patients would be surprised to know about you?
My husband and I adopted a child from China.
Keeping your patient’s smiles healthy is the main focus of your job but what is one of your favorite guilty-pleasure-cavity-inducing snacks?
There are so many, but I love peanut butter cups.
If you could have one superhero power, what would it be and why?
I would like to be invisible so that I could sleep in on the weekends.
