‘Tis the season for giving!
We are beyond excited to announce that once again, New Hampshire Family Dentistry will be partnering with Marine Corps Toys for Tots for the 2016 holiday season, to help make Christmas special for less fortunate children in our community.
Are you looking for a way to help others during this Christmas season? Connect with the Hillsborough County community by donating to our holiday toy drive!
New Hampshire Family Dentistry has been a drop-off location for Toys for Tots for many years and are thrilled to work with our patients again to benefit this worthy cause. If you would like to donate, please bring a new, unwrapped toy that is geared toward kids 0-12 years old to our Manchester dental office.
The donation box will be located in our lobby and we will be collecting gifts from now until December 8th.
New Hampshire Family Dentistry wants to make the holiday season merry for everyone – especially the youngest members of our community. Help us create even more smiles this Christmas season by adding toys to our Toys for Tots donation box.
You can also visit the Toys for Tots website at toysfortots.org to make a direct donation.
ABOUT THE U.S. MARINE CORPS RESERVE TOYS FOR TOTS PROGRAM
For nearly 70 years, the Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign has helped bring joy to less fortunate children in communities throughout the U.S. The mission of this remarkable program is to collect new, unwrapped toys to distribute as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the toys were collected. Since it’s inception, Marines have given out more than 400 million toys to over 188 million needy children. Their goal is, “to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.”
The creation of Toys for Tots was motivated by the charitable efforts of Diane Hendrick, wife of Major Bill Hendrick, USMCR. She wanted to donate a homemade Raggedy Ann doll to a needy child, but couldn’t find an organization to help her do so. At her suggestion, Major Hendrick’s coordinated a group of fellow Marine reservists and collected some 5000 toys for local children by placing collection bins outside of Warner Bros movie theaters around the Los Angeles area. Their endeavor was so successful that, in 1948, Toys for Tots was launched as a national campaign.
